Onthe design of concrete structures under envoironmental thermal actions

Abstract

In the present paper, the influence of envoironmental thermal actions ion the behaviour of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures is analysed. Such study is based on previous research works of the authors, related to nonlinear temperature distribution and its effects on the behaviour of concrete structures.Thermal actions and primary satress distributions to be considered in design in some concrete structures is presented. In addition, several reinforced and prestressed concrete structures under envoironmental thermal effects are analyzed, focusing on ductility conditions and on the choice of the level of prestressing, respectively.
