Long-term measurement of strains and deflections in two undetermined presstress beams
Abstract
In this paper, a theoretical and experimental program is presented regarding the long-term serviceability of concrete structures. The tests include long-term measurements on two two-span continuous beams and an extensive plan of tests aimed at determining the instantaneous and timedependent behaviour of the materials used to build the beam. A procdure is proposed and applied to adjust the theoretical material models based on the material tests. The results of this procedure are presented by comparing the experimental data with the results of a step-by-step analysis of the continuous beams.
