Roadway bridge over the river Lambre at Miño (A Coruña)

Abstract

The roadway over the river Lambre is located in the Atlantic Highway between Guisamo and Miño. It crosses the valley of the estuary of the river Lambre by means of a series of simply supported 40 m spans and a singular continuous section, formed of two 40 m spans and a central one of 80 m, placed over the river bed. In this case, the isostatic solution is economically optimal. With such premise as a starting point, and manteining the same basic precast elements, we manage to jump into space and achieve an 80 m span, thus showing the ability of these girders to asumme the challenge of the very long spans.
