Bridge over Torrent gorge. Evaluation and intervention

Abstract

the present paper an example of structural assessment in a masonry arch bridge is described leading to an appropriate intervention. The main objective of the paper is to show a methodology of assessment supported in a sufficient structural analysis. Its application to a particular case bridge over the Torrent gorge, serves as an example of the whole process. The structural analysis is the topic treated in depth, pointing out the application of various methods developped by the authors and taking into account the particularities of this example: historical masonry existing structure.
