Comparison of Eurocode 2, Model Code 90 and ACI 318-00 witregard to shear and punching provisions for footingsh

Abstract

Code ACI 318, MODEL CODE 90 and Eurocode EC-2 present important differences with regard to the shear strength and punching strength, this is especially shown when the steel ratio of rainforcement is low. The above mentioned is important especially in the case of footings. The author analyses the differences either in structural design or in cost for wall footings and isolated footings, in accordance with the three mentioned Codes.
