Abstract

The new Madrid-Extremadura/Talayuela-Cáceres high-speed rail line, in its Reservoir of Alcántara-Garrovillas sub-section, saves River Almonte on its arrival to the reservoir by means of a concrete arch with a 384-m span. This great structure is a first-rate construction challenge for site control works, given the necessary quality required in its execution for the success of the work.
