Abstract

After the arch closure and the dismantling of the temporary stay system, including the steel king tower, the bridge construction continues with the piers and the deck over the arch. Each pair of opposite spans are poured asymmetrically utilizing two overhead movable scaffolding systems. The last section is the center span, which becomes the deck’s fixed point for longitudinal displacements. Finally, the deck non-structural elements are installed and load testing per bridge code requirements is performed.
