Technical protocol for action following the earthquakes of May 11, 2011 in Lorca

Abstract

The participation of the TECNOS group in the tasks of coordination and immediate evaluation of more than 4500 buildings in Lorca after the earthquakes of May 2011 has provided a set of documents and information that will permit improvements in the Technical Protocol for Action after Earthquakes and will serve as a reference, by improving, supplementing or adapting future actions. These will be particularly useful for the Seismic Evaluation Groups referred to in the current SISMIMUR-06 Plan, now under revision by the Commission founded for that purpose and coordinated by the General Directorate for Civil Defence and Emergencies (Dirección General de Seguridad Ciudadana y Emergencias), which answers to the Council for the President of the Autonomous Community of Murcia (Consejería de Presidencia de la Comunidad Autónoma de Murcia), of which the TECNOS-UCAM research group forms part.
