Railway bridge over river Ebre in Zaragoza

Abstract

The new bridge over river Ebre in Zaragoza constituted a part of the duplication of the railway infrastructure that joints the cities of Zaragoza and Huesca. The bridge is 305 metres long with the following span distribution 40 + 50 + 125 + 50 + 40 metres. This structure has been designed with the current high speed criteria giving special attention to the design of the details that assure a correct maintenance and the durability of the structure. The central span has been solved with a metallic arch with rigid lower deck.
